2009 Tedeschi Amarone della Valpolicella

Deep ruby colour with a big, bold bouquet offering up dollops of spice, raisin, cola with hints of charcoal and asphalt.  Delivers on the palate as well, with hearty flavours of spice, raisins, black cherries and a savoury, earthy character.  Considering the alcohol (16%!!), the full body and the sharp tannins, this wine will continue to evolve over the next 5-10 years. If you’d like it tonight, a thorough aerating/decanting session will be very worthwhile. Enjoy with hearty meals, such as beef bourguignon or venison stew.
