Koolatron 18 Bottle Dual Zone Wine Fridge
I got my Koolatron wine fridge as a gift, and I couldn’t have been more excited , it also helped that my friends gave it to me fully stocked. I thought I would provide a little review of it just in case any of you are contemplating purchasing it.
The Koolatron holes 18 bottles, with two separate compartments: one up top housing 6 bottles, and one below that holds 12 bottles. You hold the controls as to which one will house your whites verses your reds. I’m more of a red wine drinker, so decided to house my reds down below. However, I’ve seen others opt for the opposite as reds can easily be cellared elsewhere.
The total height of the fridge is 41inches with a width of 10.75 inches and a depth of 21.5inches.
I find it the perfect height and size to house it next to my couch.
Price
Please note that the prices stated are in Canadian, at the time of publishing the Koolatron ran anywhere from $200 to $280 depending on retailer. I think the price point is great given it’s a dual zone wine fridge, typically they can run upwards of $400.
Additional Features
Dual zone – As mentioned it has dual zones, that allow you to set different temperatures for each compartment.
Digital temperature controls – Changing temperature is as easy as pressing a button.
Backlighting- You can turn on backlights that case a nice blue light.
Overall Rating
The Koolatron 18 bottle dual zone is very economically priced for the features it has. I know three separate owners of the Koolatron that all love it for what it is. I also know that each one of us has had some small issues with it, primarily the temperature gage, it seemed to have taken a few months for it to actually set for me, it would bounce a few degrees daily.
Overall, I would recommend buying this for yourself if you want an affordable wine fridge, and you plan on storing wine you plan on consuming within the year.
